I shoot crowds and wanted to shoot candid at two young ladies and suddenly this uncle enter the frame.

The ice cream man.“He will totally see me. I gotta snap fast.”  It’s THE FEAR again – but now you have some time. You can compose, focus – wait for the shot.

 Yes, fear ruins a lot of opportunities if you let it. (And that´s what scares me  The only way to get over it is to keep working the streets. Shoot a lot and do it often. If your pictures aren’t good enough, you aren’t close enoug say Robert Capa.

I take lots of crap pictures, but at least I enjoy doing so!

 I end up with a lot of generic, dispassionate, “from a distance” photos.Robert Capa was right. Up close and intimate – especially with wider perspective tends to bring a sense of immediacy and intimacy to a photo.

 But the problem for some people is – how do you do candid street shooting photography of strangers without freaking out or getting scared? Learn your rights and rules then give street photography a try.

Bau Jong Regatta.

Thousand of people converged on the usually-serene Tasik Biru in Bau near Kuching to watch the Bau Jong Regatta organised by the Bau District Council.The weather was so good so I drive over to Bau Town to watch the events.

This unique sporting event was started way back in 1954 during the time of British rule.

 The Regatta Jong Bau mini-sailboat race is a traditional water sport organised since 1950 during the colonial British era.Beginning next year, Jong Regatta Bau, an iconic activity held exclusively in Bau here, may be rebranded as 'Pesta Regatta Bau' to lure more foreign tourists.

What Catches My Eye?.

 To me, street photography means taking the moment and just watching with your camera as events unfold around you. The secret to great street photography, however, lies in being unobtrusive. I prefer to work alone, and I am familiar enough with my trusty camera to be able to aim in the general direction of my subject and shoot without looking.Now, let see what catches my eye around the old part of the city.

Bird Photography.

It is often assumed that one needs many thousands of dollars worth of equipment in order to do bird photography well. At the very least, people believe they need a very expensive camera with a super long lens to have a decent chance at getting good results. In fact, even photographers with modest equipment have the chance to make great bird photos if they know enough about photography and particularly, how to photograph birds.I should be clear that I am not saying that expensive equipment does not help in bird photography. Instead, I am only saying that it is not necessary. The expensive equipment does give you benefits in conditions such as not being able to get close to the bird or poor lighting or flight shots. Inexpensive equipment will generally not produce good results in such conditions, so you are forced to limit what you attempt to shoot and when you attempt to shoot it. But there are still many great opportunities you can make with what you have, so drop that long-lens envy and go out and do what you can with what you have.Below is the example from my Olympus E410 mounted with Zuiko 70-300mm lens.I consider this cheap because E410 is my 6 years old camera(market price for used E410 is RM400) & Zuiko 70-300 lens (used item @ RM650)..yet i don't have to go far to shoot birds ,well just at my home backyard .....

There are days when I just want to keep to myself and enjoy my street photography.  I also wanted a fresh perspective on the people I see and not be burdened by their personal stories.

Under different circumstances, unemployment could be much higher.

 This senior citizen asked to be photographed, and thanked me after I took a snap.  I don’t think he wanted a copy of his photograph; he was making a statement.

A wonderful world of public transport in Kuching City.

  Walking is definitely a better choice when shooting the streets, but seeing the same scenes week after week and revisiting the same places is beginning to feel like groundhog day.

 There are still many street I haven’t been to and I thought I’ve already seen them all.There’s too much struggle just to survive the day, and so many sad story and good story too.

 The city streets have become less appealing lately.  I am probably getting too familiar with the city scene – the newspaper vendors, the taxi drivers, the watch repairman, the freelance photographers, the fruit vendors,, pedestrians,motor cycle and buses.

Woman selling fruits at shophouses foot way.She told me about the good old days when her income can afford her to send her children to school.Today, she asked me why I was interested in photographing her instead of some pretty girls.  Well, I thought to myself that pretty girls won’t ever have to worry about not being photographed.  There is no shortage of photographers looking out for beautiful faces to show the world, but there are not many people who will tell the world a beautiful story.

 Just when I was about to head home this morning, I saw this old water meter and I don’t want to regret not taking a snap.

Retirement. Life is good.

 Social issues are an intrinsic part of every day life for the average person, myself included, and I sometimes write about how I feel towards them.  I could very easily show photographs depicting poverty, but I choose not to, out of respect for the people whom we know nothing about nor what difficulties they are going through in life.  A picture is worth a thousand words, and within those thousand words are a million different stories.  I prefer to tell the real story rather than let readers decide for themselves how to translate the picture.

Aircraft Model Collection .

Aircraft model collection has becoming a very addictive hobby for many people. There are many kinds of manufactured aircraft models, it is impossible for a person to collect all of the models. Every nation has their own flagship airplane models, which range from jet plane models to jumbo air liners. With the collection passions, most of the people are keeping on searching for different typed of airplane models. No matter the wood replica airplanes or the metallic aircraft models. But the price of these models not common, it depends on their rarity, not all of the planet models are available.
Some of the manufactured models of aircraft are no longer being produced, because of the original aircraft have been taken out of active service and are now kept in museums. Because of their history these models are still remembered, and it is very precious for collectors.
 If you are interested in aviation in general, a model airplane is a great addition to your living room. You do not have to be a kid to have a model airplane of your own. This is because a model airplane can actually be an excellent collector's item, a toy of sorts for grownups. This means you can just keep it on display or even encased if you want to; you do not have to play with it. On the other hand, if you do want to play with it, play with your kids or nephews. You can teach them to appreciate aviation at an early age.

Anyone can be a collector. Discovering your passion is the start of any collection, so if you are fascinated by airplanes and flight, becomes a model airplane collector today. Being a model airplane collector is fun and affordable
