A Walk With My Camera.

There are days when I just want to keep to myself and enjoy my street photography.  I also wanted a fresh perspective on the people I see and not be burdened by their personal stories.
Under different circumstances, unemployment could be much higher.
This senior citizen asked to be photographed, and thanked me after I took a snap.  I don’t think he wanted a copy of his photograph; he was making a statement.
A wonderful world of public transport in Kuching City.
Walking is definitely a better choice when shooting the streets, but seeing the same scenes week after week and revisiting the same places is beginning to feel like groundhog day.
Just relaxing..
There are still many street I haven’t been to and I thought I’ve already seen them all. There’s too much struggle just to survive the day, and so many sad story and good story too.
That's grandpas walk alone..
The city streets have become less appealing lately.  I am probably getting too familiar with the city scene – the newspaper vendors, the taxi drivers, the watch repairman, the freelance photographers, the fruit vendors,, pedestrians, motor cycle and buses.
Trying to skip from traffic jam in the city.
This pretty young lady selling jungle product on the street.Today, she asked me why I was interested in photographing her. Well, I thought to myself that not all pretty girls wish to be on the street to be street vegetable vendor.

Woman selling fruits at shophouses foot way.She told me about the good old days when her income can afford her to send her children to school.Today, she asked me why I was interested in photographing her instead of some pretty girls.  Well, I thought to myself that pretty girls won’t ever have to worry about not being photographed.  There is no shortage of photographers looking out for beautiful faces to show the world, but there are not many people who will tell the world a beautiful story.

Just when I was about to head home this morning, I saw this old water meter and I don’t want to regret not taking a snap.
City water meter.
I can’t make heads nor tails of the writings on the wall.  I don’t know if it has anything to do with GAY...
Gay or Gey....????
Surprisingly I found the photos equally interesting in color.
Retirement. Life is good.
Social issues are an intrinsic part of every day life for the average person, myself included, and I sometimes write about how I feel towards them.  I could very easily show photographs depicting poverty, but I choose not to, out of respect for the people whom we know nothing about nor what difficulties they are going through in life.  A picture is worth a thousand words, and within those thousand words are a million different stories.  I prefer to tell the real story rather than let readers decide for themselves how to translate the picture.

Aircraft Model Collection .

Aircraft model collection has becoming a very addictive hobby for many people. There are many kinds of manufactured aircraft models, it is impossible for a person to collect all of the models. Every nation has their own flagship airplane models, which range from jet plane models to jumbo air liners. With the collection passions, most of the people are keeping on searching for different typed of airplane models. No matter the wood replica airplanes or the metallic aircraft models. But the price of these models not common, it depends on their rarity, not all of the planet models are available.
Some of the manufactured models of aircraft are no longer being produced, because of the original aircraft have been taken out of active service and are now kept in museums. Because of their history these models are still remembered, and it is very precious for collectors.
If you are interested in aviation in general, a model airplane is a great addition to your living room. You do not have to be a kid to have a model airplane of your own. This is because a model airplane can actually be an excellent collector's item, a toy of sorts for grownups. This means you can just keep it on display or even encased if you want to; you do not have to play with it. On the other hand, if you do want to play with it, play with your kids or nephews. You can teach them to appreciate aviation at an early age.

Anyone can be a collector. Discovering your passion is the start of any collection, so if you are fascinated by airplanes and flight, becomes a model airplane collector today. Being a model airplane collector is fun and affordable

A picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to selling

I saw Sunday market vendor selling old, vintage historical printed photos in sepia and block & white. You can have a great bargain on black and white prints. We have bought one and when we got home we found a beautiful frame for it. The pictures look exclusive when they are in a quality frame.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but how much it's worth monetarily can vary tremendously.

Self Taught Photographer.

I don’t have some fancy story about how I got into photography. I don’t have childhood memories of playing with cameras, didn’t take a photography class. Back to being self taught- no classes, just shooting and photography was so much fun. The only thing I knew about lenses were some could zoom in far and some could shoot wide, they had numbers on them that I could care less about. All I cared about were getting great photographs. Photography was fun.I’m not ashamed to be self taught. I’m not ashamed that if you ask me what the range is on the lens that I’m using that I may look down at it and read it to you. I’m not ashamed that I can’t look at a sunset and tell you what aperture setting and shutter speed would be ideal – but I can shoot it and get the photo I want to get.
wide aperture setting & ideal shutter speed.
I have a 3 thousand ringgit camera in my bag right next to a RM200 film vintage camera. They’re both real, they both take photographs, it’s up to me to make them great. Now a days people in the crowd have better equipment then the photographer shooting the event. Photographers need to accept that and accept the fact that it is their job to still get the best photographs.
I could shoot an image with good DOF  with a point and shoot and get great photographs.Depth of field(DOF) is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph.
Now, I won’t pretend I’m an expert — or that I know everything there is to know about photography — because I am not, and who does? However, being self-taught helped me learn some valuable lessons the hard, painful, torturous way and therefore, guaranteed that I never forget them.

Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia(KR1M).

There were a lot of talk about Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia(KR1M) recently. It has attract many views from the Government, Media, public and opposition parties.
In summary, Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia is a thrift store that operate in a mini market format, that sold various basic necessities at much low prices than the usual brands.
This is a good initiative as the price of every basic necessities(virtually everything due to inflation) has increase compare to minimal increase in salary income.
The inflation rate was not in proportion to the escalating high cost of living, so it would ease the burden of inflation and directly benefit the rakyat.
Our Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak introduce this smart initiative of KR1M in order for the public(Rakyat) especially to the low income citizens who stay in the urban areas, to ease the people’s burden and to  get various basic necessities at low prices.
This well in line with the slogan “Rakyat Didahulukan”(People First), which has been mooted by YAB Prime Minister himself. Najib said that as the country marched towards becoming a developed nation, the Government still ensured the people were taken care of.It was reported that the government subsidies are up by RM10 billion in order to create and introduce Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) .

Do take a visit to Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia to do your shopping.
I have visited Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia at mile11th Kuching/Serian Road the first outlet of KR1M in Kuching,Sarawak.

Why your Kit Lens is Better than You Think.

5 years ago i bought my first DLSR bundle with kits lens.Zuiko 14-42mm f3.5-5.6.

Most kit lenses are, by their nature, inexpensive (a polite way of saying cheap). That’s understandable – all the manufacturers are in competition with each other and they keep the prices of their camera kits down by creating inexpensive kit lenses. If your only lens is a kit lens, does that mean you should go out and buy a better one straight away? No it doesn’t – no matter what anyone says, or how much you lust after expensive glass, your kit lens is a great lens to get started with. I decided to stick with the kit lens and below is a few sample from my kit lens mounted to my Olympus E620.
It's raining outside so i prefer to shot indoor.
After rain...kit lens can create bokeh too.
 After rain..close-up with kit len.
Another close up shot from my kit lens.
It wasn’t the world’s best lens, but it was good enough to get me started.Your kit lens is probably a better lens than you think it is, but it’s still not a great lens and has several shortcomings. At some point you will bump up against the limitations. This is not a bad thing, it simply indicates that you’re at the stage where a different lens will help you take better photos.
