Last Minute Photo-Outing.

Yesterday spent few hours of the day shooting .I shoot with my old camera olympus E620 mounted with zuiko pancake lens 25mm f.28.This was a last minute photo-outing I was alone because I can't get in touch with few friends or perhaps they are busy.Well. nothing special about my shot here just that I wanted to share with my blog viewer what i shoot .

Merdeka, Merdeka...Merdeka! Another celebration and ceremonials .

Merdeka !Merdeka !! Merdeka !!!.Tweeeeeeeet Merdeka !! 1 Malaysia, “Janji Ditepati” (promises fulfilled).They hear this on TV live last night...To kampong boy does Merdeka still mean anything to them. They just watch the celebration on TV and see the party, flag-waving gestures etc etc.

Do you think this Kampong Boys really had a great HARI MERDEKA celebration...

Hari Raya Food.

If you happen to be on a holiday to Malaysia during Hari Raya, especially Hari Raya Aidilfitri, be sure to visit some of the numerous Open Houses that are organized by the locals and even prominent figures. Open Hiuses are organized for every festival as part of the Malaysian Culture and even strangers are invited to enjoy the festivities. Just be sure to dress up a bit.
It is at these times that you will be able to sample the best of Malay Cuisine. The Rendang is a must during Hari Raya. This is a thick chicken curry that is cooked with peanuts and is eaten with Ketupat which is compressed rice cooked in woven packets made from leaves.  Another favorite is Satay which is chicken or beef roasted on sticks kebab style.
Favorite beverages during Hari Raya include Air Bandung which is Rose Syrup missed with evaporated milk and also Soya Milk with black jelly cubes.

I sent the film for developing and I got the scan with me now. The result from the camera is really full of surprises. Heavy vignetting, parallax error and leaking light to mention some. How to eliminate these errors while using lomo? I don’t think there is a way to eliminate the error made by this plastic Recesky twin lens reflex (DIY) camera. Even if there is, I don’t think I want to reduce the errors, which means reduce the element of fun for me. My shoots from the lomo is really packed with surprises. The process of taking the picture is fun. And I want to share the joy and pleasant surprises the lomo give me.

Ramadan Market.

 

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri/Eid Mubarak.

 I wish all my friends, and Muslims the world over  Happy and Peaceful Aidil Fitr/Eid Mubarak. The standard greeting for this auspicious occasion in Bahasa Malaysia is “Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf, Zahir & Batin”.
 To mark  of Aidil Fitri, I have chosen to play some songs & video of my recent outing to photo shoot while shopping for Hari Raya.

Ramadan Bazaar 2012 @ Desa Ilmu,Kota Samarahan.

The holy month of Ramadan is upon us again and during this time, Ramadan Bazaars are set up in various locations offering buka puasa (breaking of fast) fare.The Ramadan Bazaars  start their business at 3pm. It is indeed lovely walking around, soaking up the smells and sight of local, traditional Malaysian food. I remember the previous years, I would flock to these bazaars but not this year cos I find that the food there is pretty steep and to be absolutely honest, doesn't really help with my strict running diet these days.Actually, the price of food is pretty steep everywhere, not just at these bazaars but even at your everyday 'Nasi Campur ' or fast food  stalls. And what is even worse, I believe the prices are still going to go up and up and up in the near future. Eating home cooked food these days is probably the best option.
