Housing in Kuching.

P2230004

Almost 90% still empty...NO BUYER ??.

P2230008 P2230009

The gate is closed due no tenants ........

Anyone agree with the below statement ( from the public).

I am dead against anyone buying any properties in Kuching and this is for a variety of reasons.
Among them:-
1. Cos do not justify what you get
2. Kuching have been over built
3. Buyers are enriching the developers and the ruling family
4. Buyers are paying for inefficient and out dated construction technology and via this Sarawak/Kuching contractors take 30-40 percent extra time to built houses and this is translated to hefty labour and holding cost for the developers/contractors and subsequently pass on to buyers
5. Many buyers are buying for investment and hoping that it will appreciate in value and subsequently resell it. The question is how many have actually make money investing in residential houses!!
On the Tribunal, it will take a long time and I suggest DAP start a column blacklisting Property Developers and their Directors instead as have been done by ad-hoc bodies in Semanjung in the Past.
It is a shame that we cry when we discover we are fleeced by this unscrupulous developers when no one is high lighting the present mirco economics of the housing situation in Kuching.

Is it true that Kuching have been over built...now just look at the empty apartment (pic above) still empty since completed about 10 month ago (if I'm not mistaken).

Politic -SALCRA Building.

By its look and the artist's impression of the complex, the cost of constructing the complex must be in the millions of ringgit. The question is, from where the fund to build the complex had come from? If it has come from the land of the participants, are the participants in the know? Have they no say in the way income generated from their land would be used?

The above remark is by one unhappy public about this buidling .Maybe this is just a political talk in Sarawak.

P3153993

Another unhappy comment from the public about this building....

By the way, Salcra's building currently constructed at Kota Semarahan is built at the expense of NCR land owners. Landowner should at this point time pursue to file for Writ of Seizure and Sale over the building for non-payment and/or breach of contract as dividends pay-out. How's that sound...?

To me beside UNIMAS administration building this SALCRA building consider as the tallest building in Kota Semarahan.

Greeting 1Malaysia to all Sarawak politician..Cheers !!!!.

HELLO !!!! YB's-Wake Up Now.

It's no more dream to-day,Now,you better get down to work"Promise is a promise"
There is something,I must say about last 12th General Election particularly in Sarawak. It's boring to me,at least I used to get excited about elections and I was lookng forward so much to change for better.Congratulation to our Malaysian in West Malaysia so much so something is changing there e.g Lembah Pantai,Penang,Kelantan and many more.
In Sarawak election after election,it was hoping against hope. Now,I have become cynic about this democratic process(Sarawak).I don't know much about politicians, the poltical parties and how they operate and the system work.I'm talking about 12th general election in Sarawak this GE is a dull, which has never changes as easy victory for the BN Coalition. So there is a andidate during campainge voices to Rakyat elect me,vote for me so and so.....So my friends they get elected yesterday(08 March,2008) and become "YB" so what!!!!!!!.
My massage to those elected (In Sarawak)who call "YB" to-day.By all means, celebrate your victory .But always remember, you have been elected to SERVE the RAKYAT and NOT to BE SERVED by RAKYAT.(YOU ASK FOT IT).You must also be mindful that the expectations of the Rakyat are higer now.It is your moal responsibility to fulfil all your promises during the 13 days campainge.
Congratulation for those newly elected, your dream become true.To-day dream to become 'YB" is no more a dream. Now,you better get down to work."PROMISE IS A PROMISE"

Election 2008 is powered by the power of the rakyat and internet

The Latest from Tun Mahathir, Warisan Negara ELECTION 2008 : Bloggers test their popularity in General Election Posted: 26 Feb 2008 12:44 AM CST
Election 2008 is powered by the power of the Rakyat and Internet.
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - The Internet is changing the face of Malaysian politics, becoming a virtual political party of its own as the country gears up for elections next month.
Three high-profile bloggers, all opponents of the ruling coalition which has effectively governed for five decades, are standing for the first time as candidates on March 8, hoping that their popularity on the Net will translate into votes.
"Everyone of us has a stake in the country's future, but talk is cheap. We now need to walk the walk," says Jeff Ooi, a well-known blogger contesting a seat in northern Penang state for the opposition Democratic Action Party (DAP).
A 52-year-old former advertising copywriter, he has made his name writing a political blog, "Screenshots" http://www.jeffooi.com/, one of dozens that have found an active readership outside the pro-government mainstream press.
Another popular blogger, also running on a DAP ticket, is 34-year-old Tony Pua, a fresh-faced Oxford graduate who started blogging three years ago after setting up a high-tech firm.
"I've had opportunities to migrate but I decided that Malaysia is my home," Pua said as he dreamt up campaign slogans at a cramped DAP office on the second floor of a shophouse, above a Chinese restaurant, on the outskirts of the capital.
"So the next question is what should I do to make it better?" His blog's address is: tonypua.blogspot.com.
ALTERNATIVE VIEWS
Pua, like Ooi, is running from an urban constituency where Internet penetration is highest and opposition sentiment runs stronger than in the countryside.
A third blogger, Badrul Hisham Shaharin, said he is struggling to spread his message because of the limited Internet access in the rural Malay majority seat where he is standing.
"I admit that is difficult because my blog is not accessible here, but I am getting a lot of help from fellow bloggers," he said by phone from his electorate of Rembau, a sleepy farming district south of Kuala Lumpur.
Badrul, who is running on opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's party ticket, will take on Khairy Jamaluddin, the prime minister's son-in-law and an ambitious politician. Badrul's blog: chegubard.blogspot.com
Considered a thorn in the government's side due to their often critical political and social commentaries, Malaysia's blogging community offer alternative views in a country where the government keeps a tight control on mainstream media.
The government said last year it might compel bloggers to register with the authorities to curb the spread of malicious content on the Internet.
Government backers doubt whether bloggers turned opposition politicians could make their presence felt.
"Beyond the major cities like Kuala Lumpur and Penang, there's not much the bloggers can really hope to accomplish," says Mohamad Norza Zakaria, a leader in Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's UMNO party (http://www.umno-online.com/)
The United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) dominates the 14-party Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.
Only a fifth of Malaysians have access to the Internet, official data show. There are 10.9 million voters in a nation of 26 million people.
Blogger Ooi spoke of the difficult challenge ahead. "Compared to the BN, we are behind on the three M's - money, machinery and media access."
