Uncovering The Hidden Truth.

I am not a journalist ,but just a simple man with camera in Kuching and Kota Samarahan.Let say I am a citizen journalist -that's I wanted to try.But I am not a good writer.Anyway lets my photo shot say a words.

Most of the time I do a candid shot here but sometime I am not.I start by conversation with the people I wanted to shoot ,people I don't know and ask permission for a photo shoot.Of course, generally their are not comfortable having their photo published but I have to explain politely to them.

Local news report including NST online.Read this article 'One month to educate employers on Foreign Workers'

2010/01/05

PUTRAJAYA: For one month beginning today, the immigration department will educate employers nationwide that it is an offence to deploy foreign workers as frontliners.
Those who fail to cooperate will face the wrath of the law, said department director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman.

He said the education process would include providing brochures, dialogue sessions with employers and meetings with organisations involved.

Speaking to reporters here today, he said employing foreigners as frontliners was an offence under the Immigration Regulations 1963, adding that the department had not approved any request to put foreign workers as frontliners, except for security services.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rahman said the department would not hesitate to act against employers who reaped benefits by avoiding higher levies when hiring foreigners to work.

"This will only incur losses to the government," he said. - BERNAMA

I decided to pay a visit to Muslim Food Court in Kuching & Kota Samarahan ,the moment I stepped into a food court I see a unique, a small World in colour, life and culture. I stumble upon a roti canai & Murtabak cook.My conversation with the cook disappointed me ,the cook is from South India and know very little Malay & English. But anyway he agreed of being photographed .Most of the workers here is from Indonesia and Indian.

After that I decided to meet up a group of Indonesian workers .

For many years ,Kuching has become the heaven for foreign workers. Most of them come from place like Bangladesh,India and Indonesia. Some of them have permits while some don't.There is also a general indentity attached to all these workers. For instance those men from India are placed in Indian Muslim restaurants.Indonesian men and Bangladeshi are placed to construction, plantation and some in shopping mall.

SAD CONDITION OF THE RESERVOIR PARK IN KUCHING

Posted by: nor3337

I hope the DBKU(Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara)Mayor will hear of this. The reservoir is a favorite for joggers, old and young to converge,be it early morning or afternoon. But the place is an eye sore. As a regular there, I look in dismay at the rubbish strewn all over the place. There are more at benches up the slope. The mineral water bottles, cheap wine bottles, sweets, chocolates and 'keropok' wrappers clearly shows the disregard the visitors have for the authorities. Its really terrible and its very embarassing when tourists come to the park and just imagine the impression they will have of Kuching City folks.OH, not forgetiing those lovey-dovey couples who seems to enjoy the 'secluded' areas on the slopes to do whatever they are doing. Now let me see, aaah yes the glue sniffers, and guys,we do have the toilet.please don't do your business in the open. There is a public toilet provided. And for those who love to bring your dogs there..PLEASE KEEP THEM ON A LEASH..Respect others. Hopefully those DBKU officers will do something about the cleanliness of the reservoir. And the lake too please...the water is really dirty...and it is great place for the mosquitoes to breed.

Well I have a lot more to comment but I will save it for another day!!!!!!!!

LET'S KEEP MALAYSIAN CLEAN!!!!!!!!!

I read the above article in the star citizen blog dated Sunday,December 03,2006

Sunday ,January 10,YEAR 2010 I took a walk through The Reservoir Park and found it a good spot for a walk and jogging.I agree with the statement above and below is the photo of The Reservoir Park taken yesterday Sunday January 10,Year 2010.

The Park is the favorite place for the Old & young and even the squirrel.

P1103812 P1103783

P1103795 P1103792

I do hope they keep the park clean. This reservoir was built during the Brooke era and the park that surround it has been around since the colonial time.

Kuching Reservoir Park is right in the city centre, within walking distance from the Kuching Waterfront. It is very popular with joggers and strollers in the evenings - there are usually quite a number of people there when the weather is good. It used to be the fresh water reservoir for Kuching town and the park was developed around it.The Japanese Bridge crossing the main lake is one of the truly iconic structures in Kuching. This park definitely holds a sentimental value for many people.

Being right in the city centre, it is quite surprising to find a place with so many tall and mature trees. The trees here could be some of the oldest in Kuching, as they seem to have been there forever.

This is a great place for exercise as the trees provide plenty of shade and the tracks give you a choice of either an easy run around the lakes, or a more strenously trek on the hilly slopes . There is also a nice playground for the kids.Hopefully the authority will do something about the cleanliness of the reservoir.

Squatting was also common in Kuching  City and many squatting occupied their unauthorized sites for a decade.Their generally located on open government land or on unused private land. The presence of foul odour  and other unpleasant features did not stop me from visiting a 40 years old Encik Ismail  who had lived in squatters for a decade.

Unless we are born from rich family or with silver spoon in our mouth or children of the riches, powerful person on earth..........

We all have to work to earn a living but some are more fortunate than others when they can afford lots of things in their life from the daily hard day to day earning but those less fortunate have to struggle just to make ends meet.

Life goes on,rainy or sunny.
