F1 Fever...........

P3214789

While our capital city of Malaysia ,KUALA LUMPUR is promoting F1 in Sepang and perhaps it's F1 fever now in Malaysia. So what choice do Kuching people have?

Well, GO-KART race is just fine & it's fun too .I still remember one state minister promise the peoples  and to the youth that the government is going to build a international  standard motor race circuit in Kuching .So peoples just forget  it ...so what his next promise....?

P3214788

Because I have been preoccupied lately taking care of a family member I have not been able to get out and take as many photos as I would like, so today I have to feature a photo from my last walk about in Kuching City.

P3214780

Practice my panning shoot ..with slow shutter speed & its work alright to me but I don't know what my photography friends say.

P3214782 P3214812

I do not use a lot of Photoshop manipulations, One reason is I have not learned how to do it. I do try things every now and then. I do color adjust, sometimes crop, saturate if needed, use curves and sharpen. I will take out some detracting things that just could not be helped to keep out of my shot. That does not happen that much but sometimes it is just unavoidable. Do you think all the pictures that you see in magazines, on gallery walls have not had things cleaned up in them ???.

This Go-Kart maybe to old for me to drive but not to old for me to try as sport photographer :)

Thank You.

Housing in Kuching.

P2230004

Almost 90% still empty...NO BUYER ??.

P2230008 P2230009

The gate is closed due no tenants ........

Anyone agree with the below statement ( from the public).

I am dead against anyone buying any properties in Kuching and this is for a variety of reasons.
Among them:-
1. Cos do not justify what you get
2. Kuching have been over built
3. Buyers are enriching the developers and the ruling family
4. Buyers are paying for inefficient and out dated construction technology and via this Sarawak/Kuching contractors take 30-40 percent extra time to built houses and this is translated to hefty labour and holding cost for the developers/contractors and subsequently pass on to buyers
5. Many buyers are buying for investment and hoping that it will appreciate in value and subsequently resell it. The question is how many have actually make money investing in residential houses!!
On the Tribunal, it will take a long time and I suggest DAP start a column blacklisting Property Developers and their Directors instead as have been done by ad-hoc bodies in Semanjung in the Past.
It is a shame that we cry when we discover we are fleeced by this unscrupulous developers when no one is high lighting the present mirco economics of the housing situation in Kuching.

Is it true that Kuching have been over built...now just look at the empty apartment (pic above) still empty since completed about 10 month ago (if I'm not mistaken).

Kuching's Shopping Mall Generation.

Yesterday I talk about construction workers at work in one of the shopping mall which is still under construction.To-day let us see Kuching's shopping mall generation. With good economy and influence of globalisation,a new generation is emerging in Kuching.People are more fashion conscious, they wear branded cloths, almost everyone have mobile phones,go to clubs and have a completely new attitude that come across in the way they talk and behave.

SAD CONDITION OF THE RESERVOIR PARK IN KUCHING

Posted by: nor3337

I hope the DBKU(Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara)Mayor will hear of this. The reservoir is a favorite for joggers, old and young to converge,be it early morning or afternoon. But the place is an eye sore. As a regular there, I look in dismay at the rubbish strewn all over the place. There are more at benches up the slope. The mineral water bottles, cheap wine bottles, sweets, chocolates and 'keropok' wrappers clearly shows the disregard the visitors have for the authorities. Its really terrible and its very embarassing when tourists come to the park and just imagine the impression they will have of Kuching City folks.OH, not forgetiing those lovey-dovey couples who seems to enjoy the 'secluded' areas on the slopes to do whatever they are doing. Now let me see, aaah yes the glue sniffers, and guys,we do have the toilet.please don't do your business in the open. There is a public toilet provided. And for those who love to bring your dogs there..PLEASE KEEP THEM ON A LEASH..Respect others. Hopefully those DBKU officers will do something about the cleanliness of the reservoir. And the lake too please...the water is really dirty...and it is great place for the mosquitoes to breed.

Well I have a lot more to comment but I will save it for another day!!!!!!!!

LET'S KEEP MALAYSIAN CLEAN!!!!!!!!!

I read the above article in the star citizen blog dated Sunday,December 03,2006

Sunday ,January 10,YEAR 2010 I took a walk through The Reservoir Park and found it a good spot for a walk and jogging.I agree with the statement above and below is the photo of The Reservoir Park taken yesterday Sunday January 10,Year 2010.

Good spot for walking & jogging.

The Park is the favorite place for the Old & young and even the squirrel.

P1103812 P1103783

P1103795 P1103792

I do hope they keep the park clean. This reservoir was built during the Brooke era and the park that surround it has been around since the colonial time.

Kuching Reservoir Park is right in the city centre, within walking distance from the Kuching Waterfront. It is very popular with joggers and strollers in the evenings - there are usually quite a number of people there when the weather is good. It used to be the fresh water reservoir for Kuching town and the park was developed around it.The Japanese Bridge crossing the main lake is one of the truly iconic structures in Kuching. This park definitely holds a sentimental value for many people.

Being right in the city centre, it is quite surprising to find a place with so many tall and mature trees. The trees here could be some of the oldest in Kuching, as they seem to have been there forever.

This is a great place for exercise as the trees provide plenty of shade and the tracks give you a choice of either an easy run around the lakes, or a more strenously trek on the hilly slopes . There is also a nice playground for the kids.Hopefully the authority will do something about the cleanliness of the reservoir.

Talk of the Town-Ron95 or Ron97 petrol.

MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA! I heard this on 31August2009 as Malaysian is celebrating National Day last Monday.

P9021832

P9021833

There was a time when I see 9cars out of 10 ,flying the Malaysian flags,90 house out of 100 houses, flying Malaysian flags during Merdeka Day celebration. But I'm sad this day. Now,all I can see is 1 car out of 100 car, flying the flag.I can see that all over Kuching City the commercial centre, not everyone fly the National flags.I only hope....none of my friends approach me and say "What's Up...to 1Malaysia and Fly Jalur Gemilang campange by the government.

Before 31 August 2009 I manage to pump petrol RON95 at the price of Rm1.75 per litter and on 01 Sep 2009 the day after Malaysia celebrating Merdeka Day petrol RON95 the prize increase by 5 cents. So this is become the talk of the town to-day.Merdeka gift to Malaysian.

"Most motorists here when met were wondering if indeed RON95 has special feature other than its higher price tag of Rm1.80 per litter"

They say most of the petrol station all over Kuching now stop selling RON97(Super).I'm not sure of its effects on my car's performance at the moment, because it is too early, but I'm willing to give it a try since I'm driving small compact car.Maybe I would purchase RON95 now that the price of RON97 (super) had gone up by 25cents from Rm1.80 to Rm2.05 per litter.Beside the prize factor I believe that there is no big quality difference between RON95 and RON97.

Look here somebody is not happy with the construction of petrol station near to their housing estate.

Just Rambling.

It has been 48 hours non-stop raining in Kuching since Friday till this morning Sunday(11/01/2009).
I wanted to go to Sunday Market but it was wet outside but anyhow i have to go and remind myself to drive carefully because the road is slippery and I saw a few road accident last Friday and even yesterday(Saturday).I'm not posting any photos about the accident or whatever for time being.
Evertime that I try to upload photos to post on my blog it give me an intimidating message with big fancy words, and basically I can't post photos since my last uploading on Friday.
Am I alone or does anyone have any ideas??I want to come back to blogworld with photos, and I can't figure out HOW!!!!!!!.
Anyway have a nice day .

Saturday, May 31, 2008

Well ! It's seem that this is my last Posting for May.

So this is my last post for May 2008.I want to share with you my blog reader. With the availability of digital cameras this day, there is such a trend right now to say,"Oh.I am a photographer too,".

In all honestly I personally never took photography lessons, know nothing about the technical side of DLSR or campact digital camera, and when I went to learn photography skills(which I don't have at all),I found myself day dreaming af adventures in far and remote land. But for some of you, you'll really get how into how the DLSR or compact camera works, dept of field, the best new lens,f-stop etc etc.

I on the other hand "trained" myself to look for situation that were suitable to shoot.I looked right time of the day, locations, objects and materials that were noticable enough to take note of.

SO THIS MEANS I'M UNABLE TO GIVE OUT PHOTO TIPS.

By the way my last word here and I'm telling myself here too.

Take a photography class if you are not comfortable with your skills?????

Improv them by taking a photography class at a local photo club or camera shop.
