MAULIDUR RASUL

This fountain is just about 1 kilometer to the Mosque.
People are rushing back home after work......The Mosque is just opposite of this main road.

On my way to the Mosque.

RABI'UL AWWAL.

We are already in the 9th day of Rabi'ul Awwal to-day.Rabi'ul Awwal is the third month in the Islamic calendar. The significance of this month is of course the Maulidur Rasul or the birth of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W on the 12th of this month.Thursday,20th March 2008 and it is a public holiday for Malaysia.

On this day,Muslims send their blessing to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W with recitations of praises and blessings. Muhammad(peace be upon him),the last messenger of ALLAH,was bornin Mecca, the chieftown of Arabia in the year 570 A.D.His father,Abdullah, died before his birth and he lost his mother,Aminah, when he was at the age of six years. He belonged to the Hashimite family, the nobelest of the Qureish tribe of the Arabian race. His gradfather,Abdul Muttalib who was directly descended from Ishmael, the son of Abraham, held the high office of custodian of the Ka'aba, the common pantheon of pagan Arabia, and was vitually head of the Meccan Commonwwalth.
Muhammad(peace beupon him) according to the Quran, the 'blessing' for the Universe'and the 'perfect example to follow' died in 632 A.D.and was buried in his Mosque at Madinah. He left behind him the revealed QURAN and his Sunnah as the sources of guidance for all generations.

Uncle,
This 20 is indeed a big day for us Moslems; the day of the birth and also the day of his demise. We should not only remember the day he came as a source of light, but also the day he left us, but still, he said nothing about himself, but expressing his unconditional love towards his ummah, and his last reminder specifically about solah (ummati, ummati, solah, solah). Sad to say, but there are countless number of 'moslems' who don't really care...
Have a nice day.
btw, your pictures are getting cool. Your number two pic, extra long shutter speed, plus polarizer huh? :) Take care.
