Aviation in Malaysia-fireflyz.com

FlyFirefly Sdn Bhd (Firefly) has confirmed that it will introduce it’s maiden flight to the Indonesian cities of Surabaya and Bandung on August 12 and August 16 respectively. It will also fly to Bangkok at the end of the year. The Johore Tourism Department Director, Dr Shaari Mohd Nooh said that Firefly, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, is serious in wanting to make the Senai Airport its southern hub.“Firefly will have two planes for the international flights and a set of crew permanently stationed here,” he added. He was speaking after launching the Johore Travel Fair 2011 at the Sutera Mall here.
Shaari also said that China Airlines is interested in flying to Senai from the southern city of Guangzhou and is now in talks with the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation for landing rights.  Many Chinese citizens apply for visas at the Malaysian Consulate in Guangzhou.“So, it’s natural, that they want to fly out from Guangzhou airport.
“Having more international flights into Senai Airport will only increase tourist arrivals into Johore,” he added
I was invited to the launch of fireflyz inaugural flight in Kuching International Airport in their newly announced Boeing 737-800 aircraft on 15th January,2011.

Street vendor grilled sweet corn/Jagung Bakar.

Jagung bakar,it's grilled , greasy and its tasty. The flavor, oh!! just right to my liking, salted and spicy--classic but still very expensive for me..Why ??? its cost me Rm4.00 just for one big size jagung bakar.
To me jagung bakar is an interesting snack, the snack that always makes me appetizing .It was noon when I photographed the vendor of jagung bakar at Desa Ilmu Commercial  area. Not many people yet but I'm not sure of people keen for this yummy and scrumptious jagung bakar, just look at the size and the prize is Rm4.00 for one grilled sweet corn..
Why not just take one bundle with 4 sweet corns at price of Rm3.00 and do it yourself (grilled) at home..It's simple anyway.

Mother’s day

The Mother’s Day is celebrated on a second Sunday 8th of May,2011.Mother is the most important persons in one's life. She is an angel who blesses our life with love, care, bliss and happiness. Though we all wish to do something for her, we hardly ever get any occasion when she is not prepared for celebration before us. If it's our birthday, she comes up with all the things we could dream to have, even on her birthday she is ready with gifts for us. There is only one official occasion when we can thank our dear mother for all her love and support- The Mother's Day.

Mother carry her daughter  who make this journey almost everyday, it is part of every life of The Mothers in remote village in Sarawak.

Let this mother's day be an ultra special day for not only your mom but your grandma too. Make them feel that they hold the most special place in your heart.

All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.

Teacher's Day.

Teacher's Day is the perfect opportunity for the students around the world, to pay tribute to their teachers. Although the festival is celebrated in different countries of the world, it doesn't fall on the same day. In some countries, Teacher's Day is celebrated on working days. On the other hand, in other countries, it is the day is declared as a holiday. The day is observed with fun and fervor in educational institutions, predominantly schools.
May 16 is dedicated to teachers, in Malaysia. The day is celebrated as Teacher's Day in the country, with great enthusiasm. The day is called 'Hari Guru' in Malaysia and is a working day.
The date 16th of May has been chosen as Teachers’ Day because it was during this date in 1956 that the Federal Legislative Council gave its approval for the proposals in the Education Committee Report to be endorsed as the national education policy of this country. The document is also known as the Razak Report and has since been the National Education Policy.
Besides the society thanking the teachers for their contribution on Teachers Day, the government may announce some incentives for the teachers during this special day.
This year, the 2011 Teacher’s Day Festival concept will be 1Education 1Malaysia. It will be held in conjunction with the National Teacher’s Day Celebration from May 13 to May 16 in Kuching Waterfront, Sarawak.
I have a song dedicated to all the Teachers out there..Happy Teachers Day.

The Adidas kampung is a popular shoe when it comes to choosing the right shoe for tropical jungle of Malaysia. This cheap yet practical piece of footwear has decorated the feet of Malaysians for generations, especially among rubber tapers and estate workers for as long as the independent of Malaysia perhaps. Its light, fully water resistant and simple design makes it even more attractive among those venturing into a jungle that is constantly wet and humid.

Adidas Kampung is up for anything. They are shoes for jungle trekking. Great footwear for tropical water paddling and they make excellent tropical shoes for river crossing and general camp wear. Why is this shoe called Adidas Kampung? Well, there is one particular model that comes with studded soles. The entire shoe is still made of rubber and the sides are painted with 3 yellow stripes.

There are a number of reasons why this rubber shoe is the preferred choice by many locals for the tropical jungle. Its construction of being 100% rubber makes it fully water repellent, easy to drain out water and easy to dry. These rubber shoes, is probably one of the most talked about footwear for use especially when trekking or walking in jungles like in Sarawak. These (really) cheap shoes can cost anything between RM5 to RM10 and is actually very easily available in Malaysia.

Adidas Kampung rubber shoes has a reputation that makes it a popular choice among many outdoor adventure goers in Sarawak. They can be seen worn by mountain climbers, river paddlers and even among outdoor educators at established organization. While their price may be an important factor, the popularity of these shoes we reckon boils down to its practicality and functionality.

Tea or Teh.

TTsession

TT session (short for 'Teh Tarik' - a Malaysian special hot tea with milk & shake, a common drink when we hang out).

I have variety of Tea bags of many kind of flavour at home and I love drinking tea.

Do you know that drinking tea benefits similar to water. The recent studies were made to analyse the health effects of having tea more than 4 to 6 mugs daily. The results of drinking tea for more than 4 to 6 mugs of tea, is similar to that of having liter of water that keeps your body hydrated. However, this is not at all because of the caffeine contents in the tea, its only about drinking water that saves from dehydration and maintains the water levels in the body. However, the findings also proved no major negative health effects of drinking tea. While the practical tests were held, people were served with one liter of warm tea in total amount for the span of 12 hours period, which leaved the similar effects of having that much of warm water. However, the contents of the tea were limited to 20 ml of semi-skimmed milk and no sugar.

Drinking warm water keeps the person healthy and rejuvenated. As far as tea is concerned, it is the healthier way to provide body with the essential nutrients and this will also help to keep a check on the body water levels. Additionally natural tea serves with the essential flavoniods that are responsible for reducing the chances of heart diseases and stroke.
