AirAsia and AirAsia X bosses and staff
bid farewell to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT), as the budget
airline closed down its operations there before moving to KLIA2
beginning Friday.
In a tweet on Thursday night, AirAsia Group chief executive officer
(CEO) Tan Sri Tony Fernandes shared a photo of the now-empty check-in
counters, saying, "From my desk at LCCT. Deserted. Built for 10 million
expanded to 15 million but we did 20 million due to 3 year delay."

The operations at the LCCT ceased after eight years with the departure
of AirAsia X Flight D7 170 to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at 2.35 am and the last AirAsia flight out of the LCCT was at 10.30 pm yesterday. Flight AK63 left for Kolkata, India.Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd had said that the LCCT would be turned into an air cargo terminal.
Bye bye LCCT. It's been many years that you served us well.
