The traditional Malay fishing village situated about 37km from the city centre 'Kampong Bako'. The mood of transport for the villagers here is a boat.
Kampong Bako is nothing new to tourist, locals and foreigners alike as the village is the gateway to Bako National National park.South East Asia's smallest National Park in Sarawak.
Kampong Bako is famous for the production of shirmp paste commonly known as 'Balacan' by the local through cottage industry.
To go here take a red bus known as Rapid Kuching Bus from the city centre and that's will cost you Rm3.50 per trip..don't go by taxi and its might empty your pocket for the day..Rm45.00 per trip.
