Satok Suspension Bridge.
Can’t see the bridge? That’s because it isn’t there anymore. This is the remains of Satok Suspension Bridge. The 78 year-old bridge, one of Kuching’s oldest landmarks, collapsed on the 7th October 2004.
I think this must be the bridge that my mother used to cross with her horse in about 1950 - a frightening experience. I recall it was the only route for the Fire Service to get across the river.
yms>>> sorry, look like our Sarawak Government not interested to rebuild this bridge and i understand they wanted to have a jetty for river taxi to cross the river heading for new wet market & Sunday market.
