The interior of the old fish market looked like.
This old fish market have been abandoned for quiet sometime as a tree has grown its way up the roof.

Very nice architecture!
It looks like a beautiful building still if some one would give it a little TLC.
Very impressive buildings (and photos), even after being abandoned for quite a while.
the outside design of the market is very cool and you did a nice shot there.
Nice photos. I'm glag you took them before the demolition.
Kust great, and look at the detalils in this building!!! unveliveble :-))) If would have been sp expensive to do to day.
I think it is a good thing you are making a record. You can almost hear the echoes of past voices and the noise and bustle.
What kind of structures will be going up here after demolition?
Wow! Looks too ornate and fancy to be filled with fish. Looks like it was made for royalty to hold parties and dances.
Wonderful photos all.

It's a waste to see such a beautiful building being demolish. Hope the govt would do something to retain it.
Happy Monochrome Monday, Uncle Awang.
Assalamualaikum Uncle Awang.
Such a beautiful architecture. Hope the new building to be constructed over there will not less aesthetic value than this building. Beautiful building not only in architecture but whether it serve the purpose, good lighting, ventilation, strong, and make use rightly.
Thanks for your photographs

What a beautiful building slated for demolition. It's so detailed and you have captured it lovingly.

Awang,
I visited the market during my visit to Sarawak some years ago. It will be foolish to demolish this building with so much history. A new building can be built around it incorporating this building within it. Sitting on prime land at the water front make it susceptible to the greedy developers. Hopefully it is not gone yet and the State Government will have the foresight to preserve it just like the Pasar Seni in KL.
