This weekend I check-out at Satok Bridge to snap a few photos about Thaipusam in Kuching. The area near to Satok Bridge is a place for Kavadi, piercing, haircuts and rituals are done before they proceed to the temple.I'm late to witness all this event but at least I can see the procession(photo below) and to visit others weekenders you can click to WEEKEND SNAPSHOT
They walk barefooted to the temple.
Pierced with hooks & skewers in their cheeks, chest and back shoulder heavy structures called Kavadis.
This festival commemorating the day when Goddess Pavarthi gave her son Lord Murvga an invincible lance with which he destroyed evil demon and is celebrated by some 2million ethnic Indians in Malaysia.
