Kuching Textile Museum.
It is sited at The Pavillion, Kuching. Open to the public in August 2000. It's architecture is a mixture of the English Renaissance and English Colonial. Constructed in 1907 as a medical centre, it later became the headquarters of the Education Department.
House and display authentic local textiles and costumes made by the ethnic community of Sarawak. Examples are the internationally known Iban pua kumbu and Sarawak Malay kain songket.

Textile museums for traditional indigenous culture are a great storehouse for accumulated knowledge through the ages.
I would dearly have liked to see some of the exhibits as well.

that building is so old...last year i got to see inside n got stunnishing moment...nice place to go for tourist out there...

Your post reminded me on my day in Kuching. I involved directly on the restoration and rehabilation of this building. From dilapidated former administrative office to museum. Challenges were so great as at that time rows of shoplots surrounding were demolished to make way for a new commercial complex. Roads sinked, Magistrate building next door were under threat, of ground settlement.

Well ,the building next to this museum is already demolish to give way to new building.
