First of all I would like to Thanks Siti Mariam who e-mail me after visiting my blog on Sarikin-Bau Village Sarawak.Siti from Kuala Lumpur and coming to Sarawak for vacation with her group Insyallah on mid of December 2007.Well here I would very much happy to assis her anyway.....
Let me post on eating out in Kuching.Kuching has great deal to offer the adventurous gourment as well as typical Malaysian & Western menu. There is a whole range of local delicacies worth trying Sarawak specialities.
Sarawak Laksa a spicy noodle dish laced with beansprout, shredded chicken and prawns in coconut gravy is the great Borneo breakfast and can be found in many coffee shop.
Umai a spicy salad of raw marinated fish, lime and shallots,is the traditional dish of melanau people and often found in hotel buffets or malay fod stalls.
Local Vegetable are served widely particularly he two types of cripsy jungle fern midin & paku.

Food Centres: The most popular eating out places among locals. There is always a wide selection of value for money stall and you can select food from as many as you like.If you are not fimiliar with the dish, just be adventrous and try it.Nine out of ten you will be delighted.
Kubah Ria:(across river near to suspension bridge).A bit difficult to get to unless you have transport. If you can make it,ry the delicious Sop Kambing.
Satok Bridge:On river front below Satok bridge ,excellent barbecued chicken and seafood.
Satok Road: Left side of road heading out of town, lots of malay stalls, busiest during the weekend market(Evening Only)

What I post here is just a few and if you go across river via pengkalan sapi take a river taxi (perahu tambang)pay 0.30 cents per pax enjoy your jalan jalan cari makan at malay kampong.
