My trip to Sarikin,small village in Bau about 60KM from Kuching City and 4KM from Sarawak/Indonesia(Entikong town-Kalimantan) boundary.Long and winding road make my driving smoothly not until I reached Sarikin a minor traffic jamed due to motorist are looking for parking space.We have to pay RM2.00 per entry for parking fee collected by villagers.
Sarikin open to Indonesian traders only on Saturday and Sunday.Visitors come as far as Miri,Sibu and Bintulu to buy goods such as Sarong Batik Indonesia,Kebaya Nyonya,Tikar(matt)Pelembang also known as tikar Sarawak to west Malaysian.Many more item sell at cheap and reasonable price but of course you need to have a bargaining skill.
My trip to Sarikin is to accompany my wife to buy some item for coming Hari Raya.She bought this steam oven large size at only RM65.00 (for info Kuching sale at RM145.00).
