Photos From Plane Window .

We have all experience seeing others trying to take photos from a plane. It is not hard to see why they are doing it as the view of the clouds and sunlight is breathtaking. However, for those who have tried, you will know it is hard to take good pictures from a plane. Sometimes it is just not knowing the angle or perspective that we should point our cameras to. For me, flying is all about the view. The world looks remarkably different from above in countless ways; things that look ugly and industrial from the ground can display unexpected beauty from the air.
"I've flied with many Malaysia based airlines before, basically they just announced not to use any electronic devices regardless cell, laptop, camera or tablet during the take-off and the landing... I understand they might be interrupt the radioactive or whatever, probably we gotta respect this even though those are the perfect moment to snap photos... However, you are free to use at anytime in between though, usually they will announced it that you are allow to unfasten your seat-belt when the aircraft is stable in the sky, and that's the time you are start allow to use any electronic devices.
  Hence I rounded up some  pictures from a plane to let you see how I have done it successfully.

Majlis Konvokesyen Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia(UKM) ke-41.

Alhamdulliah,last Saturday 26/10/2013 I was a the 41th Convocation ceremony in UKM.I was there to witness my daughter graduation to receive her Master Degree in Serjana Falsafah  in Antropologi  and Sosiologi.It was a very memorable day.
This is my second time attending convocation,the first time was in Universiti Malaya in 2006 also to witness my daughter graduation .As a guest we are only allowed to photograph the ceremonies to be taken/shoot from our own seat.So below are  photo album during the event.

How Plain Pictures Can Have Big Messages.

Only some of this collection of photos are what might be considered “good” from a photographic point of view. There are problems with color, composition, lighting and a host of other things. Yet, they are all united by the fact that they convey a clear message. How we perceive that message is often up to the individual, but we think these plain photos show how much power a photographer can potentially have in bringing attention to a situation or cause by careful selection of subject matter. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then these photos are batting above their average.

Have you ever been on a Photowalk?

Have you ever been on a Photo walk?  They can be so much fun!  It’s a group of obsessive photographers who get together and walk around and take photos .Yesterday morning (05/0/2013) Saturday  was  The 6th Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk 2013.There will be over 28 THOUSAND people walking .  This is the biggest photography walk in the world, and I'm so excited to join other walker.
This one was our walk in Kuching and as suggested by our lead walker we take a quick tour of down town Kuching and walk down memory lane for many of us.
We meet  up in front of the Old court House and started walking towards the Kuchng Water Front ,pass Square Tower, to Pangkalan Batu; then head back to Main Bazaar, walk along the kaki lima or the five-foot-way , right up to the Temple.Then U turn back onto Ewe Hai/Carpenter Street, zigzag in/out of Bishopgate and Cina Street…get a shot or 2 of the tin smith at work and old shops. Cross over to India Street turn in into the Masjid India alley..continue walk down Gambier street, get on to Power Street..hang around and shoot at/near the open air Food court/PJ transport(bus terminal).Then move on to  Bus Terminal continue shooting from Saujana Food Court, where the walk end…At the end of the walk, we will sit down for teah tarik/mee goreng etc while sharing yr catch or just chit chat.

Worldwide Photowalk In Kuching Sarawak.

Something really exciting is happening next Saturday(05/10/2013). The 6th Annual Worldwide Photowalk.
It’s a social event for photo enthusiasts, to walk around your city, take pictures, and share them with the world.You can find out what it is all about and if there is a walk in your city HERE.

Is It OK To Photograph Naked Children for 'art'?

Why do we instinctively see this as 'wrong'? Is it for protection of the child from sexual predators/pedophiles, etc.? Or is it because we things that children should not be given the 'choice' until they are able to conceptually make the distinction between whether it is right or wrong. On the other hand, I've seen photographs of nude children that did not seem to be at all provocative. Recently I saw a copy of an old photo of a large group of children swimming nude in the Thames River. For me, not a problem. The same goes for a photo of a woman bathing her infant child. Not a problem.The issue isn't, for me, whether they're nude or tarted up. The issue is the intent of the photo.

 The aborigines or Orang Asli are basically jungle dwellers.The Orang Asli have been regarded as invisible by many people.What we do see in them is their ‘primitive’ form of lifestyle and the entrenched stereotype that they serve no purpose to the ­advancement of our nation except to make our tourism advertisements look exotic and attractive.It was very common scenario if we saw inside a dilapidated hut, a naked Orang Asli children.
