Now Every One Can Fly Even More..........

Where will AirAsia fly with all its future Airbus deliveries.

Even before AirAsia placed its mega-order for 200 Airbus A320neo aircraft at the Paris Air Show, the carrier already had outstanding orders for a further 86 ‘basic’ A320s as well as currently operating 89 A320s (53 by its Malaysian airline, 20 by Thai AirAsia and 16 by Indonesia AirAsia). So what is the airline group going to do with all these next-generation A320s when they start being delivered at the rate of around 12-15 per year from 2016?
Besides simply using the new aircraft to phase out older aircraft, there are many current indicators to confirm that much new capacity will be needed to absorb growth. During the last 12 months the AirAsia group fleet has grown from 85 to the current 93 units (which still includes four 737-300s in Indonesia). At the same time passenger numbers grew 13% from 22.7 million in 2009 to 25.7 million in 2010. In the first five months of 2011 the airline has seen passenger growth accelerate to 20.2%, to just over 12 million, suggesting that the airline is well on course to carry over 30 million passengers in 2011.
The size of AirAsia’s order and no doubt some flexibility on timing, combined with how quickly it decides to refresh its fleet, combined with underlying market conditions (such as fuel prices), the pace of further liberalisation, and additional joint venture decisions, will determine how quickly AirAsia actually grows. But having secured such a large order (and volume normally equates to discounts even when buying ultra-expensive things like aircraft), and a track record of solid profitability, the indications are that AirAsia will continue to be the region’s biggest low-cost carrier and will be able to deliver its promise that “Now everyone can fly” to well, pretty much everyone.

Should You Ask For Permission When Shooting Street Photography?

Check out the articles Eric Kim Street Photography
I believe that if you can capture strangers you encounter on the street, whether surreptitiously or brazenly, whether with permission or without permission, as long as the images of the people that you capture are not contrived by any manipulation by you the photographer, and are indicative of humans interacting spontaneously with what ever or who ever is in their surroundings, it’s all street photography.
As far as asking permission, it depends upon the circumstances, if you think you should in any given situation, then do so. If through your body language and presence you can present a non-threatening and friendly, or unobtrusive image of yourself, then click without asking. If it feels appropriate (the subject acknowledged you and seemed responsive) offer a thank you.
Usually I do not ask permission, here is a link to a recent image in which I did not ask permission and nothing was contrived by the subject or myself when I captured the image:
Not a stranger to me...fellow Malaysian.

Just greet them no harm done..then Shoot don't forget to say 'Thank You'

He caught me in action..but later he say 'Thank You ' to me because I bought some spices from the shop keeper.

I ask permission for this shot..that why you see the shop keeper try to rearrange his product nicely.
I always remember this  "Black and white images they enhance emotional substance and have a disposition of making photos look more artistic".

Black and White vs. Color Photographs

Few years  ago, when I purchased my first( digital) DSLR Olympus camera, I never thought of taking  black and white photographs. Having DSLR, I realized that I did not need to worry about the price of film so I started taking hundreds more shots than I had . This gave me the chance to play with color options.
That being said, color photography has definitely taken the forefront in popularity, especially since the evolution of digital methods. Digital cameras, as well as some other things, have made photography available to a much wider audience of professionals and amateurs alike. It has made cameras much less expensive with a wide range of quality. Because of this accessibility, many people do not consider taking black and white photographs on a regular basis.
Uses tonal contrast to create a dramatic scene.

After shooting a lot of different subject matters, I have some opinions about what seems to work in color and when black and white seems more appropriate. Black and white does offer the most options for contrast and using filters for a more dramatic effect. There is no universal rule for this and each photographer is going to have a different approach. There are also many more kinds of photograph subjects that I will not mention; these are just from my own experience.

I still have the opinion that buildings are best shown in black and white. It helps show the structure and the details of its proportions and relation to other buildings. I will say it depends on the location.I do hope very much that I becoming more experienced with taking photographs really involves exposing yourself as much as possible; taking more shots than you may think is necessary and experimenting. As you can see, there is no universal rule for which type of photograph works best. Both color and black and white have their benefits and their possibilities. In either case, I am a fan of taking the shot in my camera rather than adjusting it on the computer later. This means a deeper understanding of the composition and subject matter while you are in the moment rather than relying on the computer to make the nice shot for you.
Thank You people ..more  B&W on my next entry........

Firefly to take over Kuala Lumpur-Sibu route from MAS.

Sunday June 26, 2011 The Star.

Firefly will gradually take over the Kuala Lumpur-Sibu route from MAS from July 1.
The airline will continue to offer the same twice-daily flight services as MAS, which will withdraw from the route effective Aug 1.
“We have an agreement with our code share partner, Malaysia Airlines, that we will operate this route using our B737-800 aircraft and will continue to provide connectivity to other MAS' routes and services,” said Firefly managing director Datuk Eddy Leong in a statement yesterday.
Leong said they were fully aware of the concerns of travellers and travel agents from Sibu on the inavailability of passenger and baggage through-check for those with onward journey on MAS and vice versa.
“On Sept 1, our departure control system upgrade, which will allow passengers to through-check their baggage on multiple flights to their final destination, will be operational.”
Until then, he said, passengers on the Kuala Lumpur-Sibu flight would have to bear the inconvenience of checking out and re-checking-in.
He said Firefly guaranteed lowest fares and travellers could opt to purchase bundled sets of service including in-flight meals and seat selection.
Travellers can purchase flights from www.fireflyz.com.my and travel agents also have the option of making purchases through the Global Distribution System listed under MH9000 series.

It is interesting to note that FireFly Airlines, the subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, is in competition wth AirAsia. However it cannot be denied that AirAsia is way ahead of Firefly even though Fireflyz is a full service point to point airline with rates almost similar to Air Asia. AirAsia started from a humble beginning of RM1 company and 1 aeroplane to become a RED giant that it is today with Richard Branson of Virgin Group having a share in its long haul AirAsia-X  sector.
Honestly, most of us use AirAsia because the fare is lower than MAS and it allows us to save a few dollars. When things are expensive these days, saving a dollar or 2 means a lot too especially for those middle income earners.
When passengers intend to fly, the first thing we check is the fare rate, then the time schedule before we proceed to make a booking. Where access to instant information is available at the click of a mouse, smart travellers do their own research and go where the value for money is.
Firefly Airline at this point of writing has yet to touch down in Sarawak and Sabah and once they do, I will definitely support them for the value of Ringgit Malaysia that I will be getting. If I need to fly to a destination for a meeting, I don’t want to be stressed in having to worry of my baggage weight limit or many other million issues not taken care of online when I booked earlier. Regardless of how I feel, AirAsia has allowed thousands of people to tour and see the world. Keep it up AirAsia. You have made many people’s wishes come true!
